How to deal with the gear onboard :

The magic of traveling on a catamaran, is to to do island hopping , and explore many stunning destinations, and discover kite spots u would never be able to reach otherwise.

However it requires a bit of logistic with simple guidelines to avoid messy situations and waste precious riding sessions because of bars tangles, damages, and loss of gear .

As kiteboarders and explorers, we have extensive experience in traveling with gear.

Basic safety rules to enjoy your riding sessions and avoid unnecessary “kitemares”:

how to store the kite gear on the catamaran:
Sand is never welcome on a boat . Plus equipment is bulky and you don’t want it in your way when maneuvering or sailing.

–  Best place for the gear on a catamaran is on the front trampoline.
– Make sure to tie and secure all before cruising from islands to islands.

Leaving for a session :
The last thing you want to do when it’s blowing 20 kts is to keep running back and forth with the dinghy from the spot to the catamaran anchored out there. So get ready  before leaving the boat :

– Make a check list of what you will REALLY need for a perfect session
– A dinghy has limited space ! Pack everything small : struts deflated, harness wrapped around kite or stuff it all in ONE Kite bag !
– Get spare water and food, camera, tools and small stuffs in a waterproof bag.
– Organise the room in the dinghy so gear doesn’t get smashed or fly off  and you can sit !

Returning from a session :

– Coming back with your gear packed up and sandy , tie the dinghy to the front bow of the boat and pass on the kite gear to someone on the trampoline.
– You may use the hose to rinse off your gear
– Get onboard from the stern and use the water to rinse yourself off, wet is better than sandy !
