Boca Chica weekend trip 3/05/11

Christophe Ribot of Miami Kiteboarding graciously invited me along on a downwinder from Boca Chita Key to Crandon Park on Key Biscayne in Miami, FL. As winds were clocking to east to southeast, we ran to the island to kite back with something like a broad reaching breeze. Winds were around 15 to 20 mph for much of the run. Seas were light given that we rode inside the Florida Reef Track for much of the way.

    Fantastic, trip, got my share of legs work out , but i felt learning soooo much and increased my confidence level now. I had never rode in open ocean and outside of crandon park ! whoa, am glad the boat stayed close by , thanks ALan :) those flats are amazing.
    i’m not ready for key largo, but i’ll go back to boca everyt weekend

    it looks we were followed by an helicopter the whole trip.
    love this wide angle.
    Other Boca trips are scheduled weekly, any time, any windy days. we just need 3 guys or you can rent our the boat for yourself !

    Email us if you feel like going to Key Largo with us. it’s only 3-4 hrs riding , the boat is behind you at all time, and we take breaks , it’s an island hopping kite safari !
    we drive you back in Minibus.

    Fabulous experience to do the downwinders with Christophe, his team, and dear friends sharing a same passion for Kiteboarding, winds, and the ocean.
